GAHANNA, Ohio – An early morning fire in the heart of Gahanna is being called suspicious.

The Metropolitan Emergency Communications Center (MECC) received a report of flames coming from a strip mall on Granville Street just before 5 a.m. Friday.
Mifflin Fire officials arrived to the scene to find the Granville Street Tavern on fire. The fire was extinguished quickly and was contained mostly to the side of the building where an outdoor deck is attached.
According to Mifflin Fire Battalion Chief Taylor, the fire looks to be suspicious and is being investigated.
No one was in the building at the time of the fire and no injuries were reported from the incident.
Granville Street was closed while fire crews worked, but the road reopened to traffic shortly before 7 a.m.
