DUBLIN, Ohio -- Hundreds of Dublin Scioto high-school students gathered for a candlelight vigil Sunday evening to remember two of their own.
Eighteen-year-old Kyle Colello and 15-year-old Lyndsey Rice were killed in a crash Saturday night.
The Delaware Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol said the two were traveling southbound on Klondike Road, south of U.S. Route 36, when the driver of the 2000 Toyota Solara lost control when negotiating a right curve, striking the guardrail on the right side of the roadway. The vehicle crossed the roadway and struck several trees off the left side of the road.
Colello and Rice were ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene.
According to reports, it remained unclear who was driving the vehicle at the time of the crash.
At the candlelight vigil, friends and coaches couldn't say enough positive things about the young couple.
"Lyndsey was a very friendly person, always happy, with a smile on her face. She was a wonderful person," said one friend.
Others said Colello also was a great person and well-respected. Colello wanted to go to college to be an engineer.
The school was to have counselors on hand Monday to help students.
