CENTRAL OHIO -- A local mom shared her secrets for scoring online deals with NBC 4 Monday.
Every day, local “money saving mom” and blogger Marcy Robison scouts out the deals for her blog http://www.stretchingabuckblog.com, and Cyber Monday is a big day for her and her faithful followers.
Robison said you can save a lot of money by combining discounts with free shipping.
“Honestly, there are a lot of really good deals. Most retailers seem to be offering 20 to 25 percent off and a lot of free shipping.” Robison said.
The National Retail Federation said 97 million Americans, nearly one in three of us, will log on to shop today.
To find the best deals, Robison suggested first checking the manufacturer's Web site for its "best deal." Then, scout out sites such as http://www.amazon.com or http://www.slickdeals.com to see if they can beat it.
Do a quick search for online coupons and promotions codes, too.
While Cyber Monday may seem revolve around deals on electronics, you can find great stocking stuffers, too.
A favorite deal of Robison's is the $5 magazine subscriptions through Amazon.com.
Another tip: Shop where you can get some perks. Robison is trying http://www.shopathome.com.
"You sign up for an account, and any day of the year you'll get cash back, but today you have extra incentives. If you go through http://www.shopathome.com, you can earn an additional 20 percent back." Robison said.
