Some say candy makes kids hyper, but a new study says a daily candy habit can lead to much worse.

A British study finds kids who eat candy every single day may be more likely to be convicted for violent crimes when they grow up.

Researchers think this may be because regularly giving in to kids’ pleas for sweets may stop them from learning how to wait to get what they want. Researchers say this might push them towards more impulsive behavior.

The study is based on 17,500 participants in the 1970 British Cohort Study.
