Columbus Fire Called To Northeast Columbus House

The Columbus Fire Department is on the scene of a fire that occurred at 2024 Avalon Place just before noon on Sunday.

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Columbus Fire Department was called to the scene of a fire that occurred at 2024 Avalon Place just before noon on Sunday.

As of now, Investigators on the scene tell NBC 4 a husband and wife were inside the home sleeping and awoke to the space heater on fire.

Investigators are still trying to determine if the cause of this fire is from the heater or from electronic components in the home.

The windows of this home are covered with plastic and tape and it appears the residents were preparing for the colder temperatures from the nights and days to come.

Red Cross has been called to the scene to assist the family.
