BARTOW, Fla. -- Law enforcement officials say child pornography has grown so pervasive on the Internet that police could easily spend every day finding and arresting offenders.
But experts say in this era of lean budgets, many law enforcement agencies can't aggressively pursue these crimes.
Keith Durkin is an Ohio Northern University sociology professor and frequent witness for the federal Internet Crimes Against Children task force.
He says with training and resources, it's very easy to pick off the perpetrators, but law enforcement also has other problematic crimes to deal with.
Experts say the pornographic images increasingly seem to feature younger children being molested for the cameras in more violent and severe ways.
