COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Halloween isn't even here yet, but some customers and retail stores are already thinking about Christmas.
Garden Ridge has already sold some Christmas trees. Colored trees are popular this year, along with small stuffed decorations that look like elves for $9.99. All Christmas Floral is 50 percent off and buy-one-get-one free. Deals like that are drawing some customers in early.
Two women at the Hilliard location said they'll still shop this holiday season but will probably scale back a bit -- an opinion shared by Target customers as well on Olentangy River Road.
Shopper Colleen Sexton says she has also told her children to scale back but is thankful her entire family will be together this year.
"That's the real gift," Sexton says.
Making gifts is an option for some. One woman in Hilliard says she likes to bake and may give away some of her treats as gifts.
