COLUMBUS, Ohio -- A masked and possibly armed man allegedly robbed a South Side pizza shop Thursday morning, and a nearby elementary school went into a precautionary lockdown.

Columbus police were called a pizza shop at 3266 S. High St. on reports of a robbery shortly after 10 a.m.
An employee gave the suspect, who implied he had a firearm, an undetermined amount of money, and he fled the scene out of the back door.

Nearby Parsons Elementary, at 3231 Lee Ellen Pl., went into a precautionary or level 1 lockdown while police searched the area for the suspect.
A precautionary school lockdown means all doors and windows remain locked.
The lockdown was lifted at about noon.
The suspect was described as a male who is 5 feet 7 inches tall. He was wearing a hoodie and a Halloween mask.
