COLUMBUS, Ohio -- A man was sentenced Friday for his role in a fatal hit-skip crash that occurred in September 2008.
The crash occurred on South Hamilton Road near Interstate 70 at about 2:30 a.m.
Clark Joseph Valentine III was pronounced dead on the scene.
Nathaniel Johnson, 31, was charged with failure to stop after an accident.
Johnson claimed he thought he had hit a deer and didn't stop after the crash. He was also driving without a license at the time.
Johnson pleaded no contest and was sentenced to 12 months in jail.
