Mike Partin, Past Ohio AP Broadcasters President, Dies

ZANESVILLE, Ohio -- Ohio radio and television news veteran Mike Partin, a two-time past president of the Ohio Associated Press Broadcasters organization, has died at age 42.

His wife, Tammy Partin, says he died early Saturday at Genesis Hospital in Zanesville, just hours after serving as the announcer at a high school football game. Doctors told the family the death was from natural causes.

Mike Partin began his broadcast career at WZLE-FM in Lorain in and later worked at WTAM-AM in Cleveland, AVC Communications in Cambridge and WHIZ TV and radio in Zanesville. At the time of his death, he was employed at ONN and WBNS-TV in Columbus as an assignment news editor.

Partin headed the Ohio AP Broadcasters during one-year terms that ended in 2003 and 2009.

Calling hours are at The Christian Life Center in Heath tomorrow, from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m. The funeral will be there Wednesday at 10 a.m.
