CINCINNATI, Ohio -- Former U.S. Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O'Connor is serving as a visiting judge this week on the U.S. 6th Circuit Court of Appeals in Cincinnati.
The 79-year-old O'Connor is hearing arguments in nine cases during her two-day stay. O'Connor Tuesday and made it clear Tuesday that she would challenge attorneys with tough questions.
The panel of judges heard appeals in a personal injury lawsuit, the case of a man accused of lying on government documents, a dispute over assets in a bankruptcy and a lawsuit over employee benefits.
After serving with the 6th Circuit, which handles appeals from Ohio, Michigan, Tennessee and Kentucky, O'Connor will head west next week to serve as a visiting judge with the 9th Circuit, which covers the nine most western states.
