TOLEDO, Ohio -- An Ohio mayor vows to do everything in his power to shut down a bar where there was a wild gun battle last week.
Toledo Mayor Carty Finkbeiner describes Thursday's shootout at the Route 66 Kitchen as a "very violent, potentially hurtful incident" that he says won't be tolerated. Police say shots were fired by at least five gunmen while patrons fled. No injuries were reported.
No arrests have been announced, but police have said tips were bringing them closer to identifying suspects. The mayor says police have responded to the bar more than a dozen times in the last two years.
There was no answer at the bar early Wednesday. A message seeking comment was left at a number for a man identified as the owner in government records.
