DELAWARE COUNTY, Ohio -- A local man is arrested after law enforcement allegedly found 1,000 ecstasy pills hidden inside his vehicle.
According to the Delaware County Sheriff's office, the traffic stop occurred on Polaris Parkway near Sancus Blvd. on Oct. 14 just before 6:30 p.m.
Chris Johnson, 32, is charged with aggravated trafficking and felony drug abuse.
Investigators said they found the ecstasy hidden inside the dashboard of the vehicle.
"Johnson had 1,000 ecstasy pills in his vehicle. We fully believe he intended to sell them in Delaware County," said Sheriff Walter L. Davis III. "This is the latest example of how out-of-town drug dealers are bringing poison and crime into Delaware County. We are committed to stopping them before the drugs reach our citizens, especially our children.
"We need to be vigilant across the entire county, but especially in the southern portion since crime trends show much of the illegal drugs are coming from our south."
Johnson was arraigned Thursday and his bail was set at $15,000 cash or surety. He bonded out of the Delaware County Jail late Thursday afternoon.
