LEBANON, Ohio - An attorney for Kings Island amusement near Cincinnati says a woman who injured her hip in a roller coaster accident is exaggerating.
Harry Finke, the attorney representing the amusement park, made the statement Thursday as a trial began in Warren County Common Pleas Court.
Jennifer Wright of Defiance says she was hurt in a July 2006 accident on the Son of Beast roller coaster. A jolt sent more than two dozen people to the hospital.
Wright says she has a tear in the cartilage of the hip joint and a small fracture that will require several replacements during her lifetime.
Finke says the woman is entitled to reasonable damages but nothing more. He says he will present evidence showing that the tear didn't show up until after the accident -- when Wright sought treatment for a fall at work.
