WHITEHOUSE, Ohio - An Ohio police chief who oversaw a school's anti-drug program has resigned a month after she was accused of having an open container of alcohol in her patrol vehicle.
Waterville Township trustees on Wednesday accepted the resignation of Chief Kathleen Hartle.
Hartle served with Anthony Wayne school's D.A.R.E. program for seven years in the district near Toledo.
Officials say the allegations against Hartle stem from an incident Aug. 26, after she was asked to leave a routine township meeting. Trustee Les Disher says Hartle had trouble speaking.
She said in her resignation that she was stepping down because of medical reasons.
