HAMILTON, Ohio -- An Ohio jury deliberating on charges against a pediatrician accused of molesting young patients and bribing them to keep quiet has asked for equipment to view some videotapes from the doctor's home.
Defense attorneys argued Friday morning that jurors shouldn't be allowed to see the videotapes because they were not played in open court before defendant Dr. Mark Blankenburg. They said the defense does not know what is on the tapes. Prosecutors say jurors have the right to see the videotapes because they were admitted in evidence and the defense has had months to view them.
The judge is to give his decision Friday.
Jurors are in their second day of deliberations on 16 sex-related charges against the doctor. He has pleaded not guilty.
