COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Franklin County DUI Taskforce conducted a sobriety checkpoint on Friday evening into the early hours of Saturday morning.
Authorities from the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office and Blendon Township Police Department conducted the checkpoint from 9:44 p.m. until 2:20 a.m. on Westerville Road north of S.R. 161.
Over 550 vehicles drove through the zone and half of those vehicles were checked for traffic violations including possible driving under the influence. Three people were arrested for OVI and 29 citations were issued. Two people were arrested with outstanding warrants and one person was charged with child endangering.
