Declining Donations Drive MADD To Trim Ohio Staff

»  Comments | Post a Comment

CHARLESTON, West Virginia - Citing a nearly 20 percent drop in donations, Mothers Against Drunk Driving is cutting staff at its national office and in 11 states, including Ohio.

MADD National Chief Operating Officer Debbie Weir says dwindling financial support has forced the nonprofit to make some difficult decisions.

Cuts will vary from state to state. In West Virginia, two of the three paid positions have been eliminated.

Weir says private donations, government grants and corporate sponsorships to MADD National dropped to $47 million last year.

Notifications to employees in Arkansas, California, Delaware, Michigan, Minnesota, Ohio, Oregon, Oklahoma, Virginia, Washington and West Virginia should conclude this week.
