COLUMBUS, Ohio -- A Columbus high school football game erupted into violence at the end of the matchup.
As punishment, there was discussion about cancelling the final two weeks of the football season at Northland and Whetstone high schools, but Wednesday the schools decided that a post-game fight between the teams was not enough to warrant canceling the season.
Instead, the players from both teams will serve community service hours starting Thursday.
The teams will be cleaning the grounds at the opposing school and will read a book endorsed by the Ohio High School Athletic Association on sportsmanship.
