»  Comments | Post a Comment

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Franklin County Commissioners are considering a plan to spend $3 million on the Columbus Commons Park that will exist at the site of the former City Center mall.

Commissioner Paula Brooks told NBC 4 that the commissioners want to preserve 6 acres of green space forever as a means of attracting tourism.

Brooks said she envisioned a Central Park-feel to the downtown green space, which will be surrounded by development.

Commissioners will discuss the funding Thursday and expect to vote on Tuesday.
