Baby Grace's Remains Identified By Ohio Relatives

GALVESTON, Texas - A fisherman described how he discovered a toddler's remains in an overturned plastic container in Galveston Bay.

Testimony resumes Friday in the Galveston capital murder trial of Royce Clyde Zeigler II, who is accused in the 2007 killing of his stepdaughter.

Emergency responders dubbed the victim "Baby Grace" until the remains of 2-year-old Riley Ann Sawyers were identified by relatives in Mentor, Ohio.

Robert Spinn on Thursday testified he was fishing for flounder on Oct. 29, 2007, when he happened upon an island and the container. He opened a bag that was in the container and "there happened to be a shoe."

The girl's mother, Kimberly Dawn Trenor, in February was convicted of capital murder and sentenced to life in prison.

Prosecutors are not seeking the death penalty against Zeigler.
