CINCINNATI, Ohio -- A worker from Louisiana who fell from scaffolding on a highway overpass in southwest Ohio last week has died.

Officials at a Cincinnati hospital say 45-year-old Edmond Gourdon of Covington, La., died Sunday night.

He fell 14 to 20 feet while painting underneath a bridge over northbound Interstate 75 in Butler County and landed in a construction zone.

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration is investigating the accident, which could take several weeks.

Gourdon was employed by Ucl Inc. in suburban Cincinnati. Ucl Vice President Gary Collins says everyone at the company is deeply saddened by the death.
