COLUMBUS, Ohio -- The 'Shoe becomes a battlefield as OSU takes on Navy Saturday.
Three former Buckeyes, who are also past service men in the U.S. Navy, will see first-hand whether the coin toss is heads or tails.
Greg Lashutka, Mike Lanese and Phil Strickland will be honorary captains for the game.
Lashutka says he loves his colleagues and service men but his allegiance lies with the Buckeyes.
Lashutka will be watching the game with former secretary of the U.S. Navy John Dalton.
They'll be rooting against each other in this rivalry.
"I love my Navy colleagues, and I love my Marine colleagues, but I'm a Buckeye who wants to see them prevail," said Lashutka.
"Ohio State's players are bigger, they're faster, and they're stronger, but Navy is here to play. They're going to go at it 60 minutes 110 percent," saidDalton.
Despite the rivalry, both men agree the game is more than just a matchup.
They said with the anniversary to 9/11 just around the corner, it's a chance to remember and recognize the men and women who serve our country.
