LICKING COUNTY, Ohio -- Troopers continued to investigate a fatal crash that happened Friday night.
The Granville post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is currently investigating a crash that happened just before 8:30 p.m. in Newark Township.
Reports said 38-year-old Christopher Kaluzne was traveling south on Fallsburg Road between Steward and Cedar Run Roads when he drove off the right side of the roadway and struck a guardrail.
The vehicle overturned, and Kaluzne was ejected from the vehicle.
Kaluzne was pronounced dead at the scene, and his passenger, 52-year-old Jeanne Conard, was flown to Grant Medical Center.
There wasn't any word on Conard's condition. She was trapped in the vehicle after it overturned and had to be extracted from it.
Seat belts were not in use and alcohol was considered to be a factor in the crash, according to troopers.
The crash remained under investigation.
