COLUMBUS, Ohio – According to police reports, a man stopped for a pedestrian traffic violation, landed in the Franklin County Jail on Friday evening for punching an officer.
Just after 5:30 p.m. on Friday, a CPD officer stopped 19-year-old Curtis Stevens for an alleged pedestrian traffic violation.
Stevens allegedly provided false information to the officer in attempts to avoid arrest on an active warrant.
When the officer discovered the information was false, he attempted to place Stevens into custody.
Police said Stevens punched the officer in the face.
Stevens fled into an apartment on Wedgewood Drive where he was quickly apprehended without incident, police said.
