COLUMBUS, Ohio – A pair of suspects decided to visit their target before they pulled off their heist, but apparently didn’t realize security cameras would record the entire episode, authorities said.
On Wednesday, Aug. 12, two men walk into The Cyber Check in the 4200 block of Westland Mall to case the business for a future burglary, authorities said.
The surveillance video shows the men walking around the store, speaking to an employee and thumbing through a catalog.
About 11:30 p.m. that same night, the same two men recorded on security earlier that day break into the business, authorities said.
Both men had on the same clothes as earlier in the day but with gloves.
The younger suspect appears to be in his early 20s with short, black hair and a dark complexion.
He is wearing an over-sized, red, short-sleeve pullover and baggy light shorts.
The other suspect appears to be in his mid-30s with a dark complexion and braids in his hair. He is about 5’7” tall with a heavy build. He is wearing a gray tank top and baggy maroon shorts.
