COLUMBUS, Ohio -- CPD continued to look for a suspect after a robbery and an officer-involved shooting early Thursday.

The incident happened around 1:30 a.m. Thursday at the Subway restaurant at East 11th and Cleveland avenues, officials said.
Two Subway employees were unloading a truck when a suspect approached one of them with a firearm drawn, police said.
A patrolling plain-clothes officer saw the robbery, exited his vehicle and confronted the suspect.
The suspect pointed a handgun at the officer, authorities said.
The officer fired at least one shot at the suspect.
The suspect fled to the east and has eluded police so far.
It remained unclear if the suspect was hit by the officer’s shot.
Police described the suspect as a black male who is about 5 feet 7 inches tall. He weighs between 140 and 150 pounds and is in his 20s. He has braided hair and was wearing all-dark clothing.
The officer and the employees were not injured.
Cleveland Avenue was closed during the on-scene investigation. It reopened before 6:30 a.m.
The robbery and shooting remain under investigation.
UPDATE: CPD released information on the officer involved, Officer John Davis. Officer John Davis #2171 is assigned to 5 Precinct C. Company and has been with the Division for 11years
