PIKE COUNTY, Ohio – The 18-year-old mother of a baby who authorities said was bitten by rats in her home will now be charged as a juvenile.
In July, Katrina Lowe was charged with two counts of child delinquency.
The Pike County sheriff’s department discovered a 6-week old baby girl had serious rat bite injuries to her foot and back along with other parts of her body.
The injuries apparently happened over a long period of time.
Just this week, Lowe’s 2-year-old boy was removed from her home.
Both children are now in the care of family members.
