BOWLING GREEN, Ohio -- A man already serving time in the killing an Ohio college student in the 1980s has been sentenced to a new life sentence in the killing of a Bowling Green State University student more than two decades ago.
Michael Dixon pleaded no contest Friday to charges in the 1987 stabbing death of Karen Sue Hirschman.
Hirschman was stabbed more than 10 times in her Bowling Green apartment in what had been the city's only unsolved murder.
Fifty-two-year-old Dixon agreed to a plea deal that will allow him to avoid a possible death sentence.
He already had been convicted of raping, murdering and kidnapping a Columbus student in 1988.
