COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Franklin County DUI Taskforce held a sobriety checkpoint on Friday night into early Saturday morning on Bethel Road east of Godown Road in Columbus.
The Taskforce was formed to identify problem areas in Franklin County and to incorporate both enforcement and education to address the problem.
Agencies from The Franklin County sheriff’s office, Columbus Division of Police and the Ohio Investigative Unit manned the checkpoint.
More than 1,100 vehicles drove through the checkpoint, resulting in six people being arrested for being under the influence.
Thirty citations were issued for driver’s license and registration violations.
