LANCASTER, Ohio – The Lancaster post of The Ohio State Highway Patrol is currently investigating a crash involving a pedestrian that occurred early Saturday morning in Fairfield County.

Reports said just before 1:30 a.m. on Saturday morning, 27-year-old Susan Blade of Lancaster was standing outside of her disabled vehicle on Coonpath Road.

Blade was struck by a Chevrolet Blazer driven by 68-year-old Mona Berry of Lancaster and was pronounced dead at the scene, authorities said.

Berry was not injured in the crash.

Troopers reported alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the crash.

The crash remained under investigation.
