HEATH, Ohio -- A suspect was arrested after two robberies, a police pursuit and a foot chase Tuesday evening.
NBC 4 reported with the FAST FACTS.
Heath police officers responded to reports of a robbery at the Dollar Tree at 617 Hebron Rd. just before 7 p.m. Tuesday.
Store employees said the store was robbed by a suspect who fled the store just minutes prior, according to HPD.
While on the scene of that robbery, officers received a second robbery report. Goumas Candy, on nearby Claren Drive, reported an armed robbery.
Minutes later, officers received a report of a red minivan driving erratically near the Indian Mound Mall.
HPD followed the vehicle, which accelerated and attempted to elude police, a police report said.
A pursuit ensued for about two miles and ended when the suspect’s vehicle crashed into a fence on Dorsey Mill Road, police said.
The suspect attempted to flee the crash scene on foot, police said.
Police used a Taser on the suspect and took him into custody.
The driver of the vehicle was later identified by police as 53-year-old Thomas Walker.
Authorities said he is a suspect in the two robberies.
Walker was being held in the Licking County Justice Center under a $75,000 bond.
