EAST LIBERTY, Ohio -- A man who was named as a person of interest in a Monday house fire has been located and has agreed to talk with investigators.
NBC 4 reported with the FAST FACTS.
Authorities have been looking for 38-year-old Wesley Helfenstine since Monday evening.
Helfenstine has been located and has agreed to speak with investigators from the Division of State Fire Marshal, the Logan County sheriff’s office and the Allen Township fire department, according to officials.
Originally, authorities thought Helfenstine was the only resident of a home at 10975 Township Road 157 that caught fire at about 5 a.m. Monday. Officials said he did not return to his home after the fire.
Now, authorities know other residents also lived at the address. Those residents returned from a recent family vacation and also were cooperating with investigators.
According to investigators, Helfenstine's family members made contact with him Monday. However, he did not agree to speak with authorities and disappeared, officials said.
The interview between investigators and Helfenstine was to take place later this week.
The origin and cause of the fire remained under investigation currently.
