COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Three local food facilities attended hearings with the local board of health on alleged food-safety violations Monday.

Chez Rama is an East Side African and French restaurant at 3669 East Livingston Ave.
The alleged violations against Chez Rama includes food contact surfaces not being cleaned properly, nonfood-grade-quality containers being used for food storage, food prep drain line needed an air gap between airline and floor drain and cross contamination between raw and ready-to-eat foods.
Chez Rama has a yellow inspection sticker, which means the restaurant and board are in the enforcement process due to uncorrected critical violations found during follow-up inspections.
Selam Restaurant serves Ethiopian cuisine and is located at 1383 South Hamilton Rd. on the city’s East Side.
The alleged violations against Selam Restaurant includes food contact surfaces not being cleaned properly, nonfood-grade-quality containers being used for food storage, no air gap between ice machine and floor drain and cold holding of potentially hazardous food.
The Manna Bakery is a Korean bakery at 5230 Bethel Center in the Bethel Center Mall on the city’s Northwest Side.
Manna Bakery faced alleged violations including not enough capacity of hot water to meet owner's peak demands (just needs a bigger hot water tank), food contact surfaces not being cleaned properly, time being used to control growth of germs not being used properly and the four-hour rule.
The four-hour rule says food can set out after being cooked for as long as four hours but then must be thrown away. It cannot be put back in the fridge for later consumption or use.
Each of the food establishments met with food inspectors Monday.
No actions were taken against the establishments Monday.
Columbus Public Health was scheduled to meet again Tuesday, Oct. 20.
