COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Absentee voting begins Tuesday, Sept. 29 for the Tuesday, Nov. 3, general election in Franklin County.
Voters may cast ballots by mail or in person at the Franklin County Board of Elections from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays through Monday, Nov. 2, or 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, Oct. 31.
There will be no voting Monday, Oct. 12, when the board of elections closes for Columbus Day.
Applications to receive a ballot by mail must be received at the board of elections by noon on Saturday, Oct. 31.
Absentee applications are available by phone at 614-462-3100 or on the board’s Web site, http://vote.franklincountyohio.gov . The site also includes a “Where Do I Vote” link making it possible for voters to view the sample ballot for their precinct.
Voted ballots must be returned to the board by 7:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 2. Out-of-country military and civilian ballots must be postmarked by Tuesday, Nov. 3, and received by Friday, Nov. 13.
Voters must register by Monday, Oct. 5, to eligible for the election. Those who have changed their name or address since the last election should update their registration by then.
Franklin County polls will be open from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Election Day.
