AKRON, Ohio -- An Ohio jail has a security issue: About 300 cell locks can be jiggled open from the inside.
Summit County jail administrator Gary James in Akron says the problem has existed for years and has gotten worse as more lock mechanisms break down.
The sketchy locks have led to an attempted jailbreak, vandalism and assaults on deputies and inmates.
The jail will have $396,000 in new cell locks installed beginning in November.
