Puppy Rescued From 7 Feet Underground

»  Comments | Post a Comment

KANSAS CITY – A puppy is rescued from a drain that is seven feet underground.

Rebecca Katz’s 2-month-old puppy and the pup's six brothers and sisters got out of a cardboard pen in the basement Sunday night.

Katz found all but one puppy. That pup had gotten into a sump pump drain.

Katz called for help, and soon plumbers ran a camera into the pipe and found the puppy alive.

After two hours of digging, the pipe was cut open and the puppy was pulled to safety.

“We’ve rescued pearl necklaces, rings in toilets, things of that nature, but never a live animal,” said David Rinkenback, one of the rescuers.

The plumbing company said they wouldn’t charge Katz anything for the work.
