COLUMBUS, Ohio -- A purse snatcher, described as a woman in blue Jeep has targeted women on the northwest side of Columbus and in Gahanna, police said.
In at least two cases, the suspect has grabbed women's purses in the parking lot of a Wal-Mart and Kroger.
In one of the cases, the victim was dragged a short distance before she surrendered her purse.
One of the victims was 87 years old.
Police said purse snatchings are not new crimes, but the suspect in these cases is unusual in that it is a woman.
