COLUMBUS, Ohio -- In the eight months since the Clime Road construction project began residents have found it next to impossible to get around.
Jaimie Ellis contacted
Since then, Ellis said her water woes have disappeared but other troubles caused by the road-widening work continue.
"It's been very hard. The time, the extra time for all of us to leave the house and drive anywhere … we are spending a fortune on gas," Ellis said.
Those living on and off Clime Road have been forced to only travel east while the daily necessities of life lie westward on Georgesville Road and Demorest.
The good news? By Thanksgiving, two-way traffic returns to Clime Road as construction crews focus their work on the other side of the road.
"We've excavated the whole north side of the road now and right now, we are currently paving the north side of the road," said Project Engineer J.R. Wolfe.
The next phase of the project includes tearing up the temporary lane traveling east and adding bicycle lanes, sidewalks and a storm drain.
With good weather, the project should be complete next summer.
