A man was hit with a Taser and taken into custody after he barricaded himself in a North Side apartment building Monday night.
Around 10 p.m. Monday, Columbus police closed East 9th Avenue, just east of North High Street, on Columbus' North Side due to a barricade situation.
The suspect barricaded himself inside an apartment building in the 80 block of East 9thAvenue and claimed to have a gun and would shoot officers, police said.
Multiple apartments in the building were evacuated.
Police also said the man was drunk.
Around 11:20 p.m. after more than an hour of negotiating with police, the man excited the building. He was shot with a Taser and taken into custody.
All traffic restrictions were lifted.
