Police in north Texas are asking for help finding a hit-and-run driver after a deadly accident on Sunday August 29.
A young mother of two was killed along a highway near Dallas and now police are hoping to use security camera video to track down the driver.
A surveillance camera near the corner caught Tonya Page, 29, walking toward the highway, just minutes before she was killed by a hit and run driver.
"She bends down and places something on the ground. We found some items there that indicate to us that that was probably a purse that she puts down, but then she walks off and leaves it" said Lt. Kirk Roberts of the Bedford Police Department.
Investigators in Texas say she disappears around the corner and within minutes is run over by a vehicle going westbound on route 183.
"How she gets from there down onto the freeway level and then out into partially into a lane of traffic we just don't know."
Investigators say two people later approached the purse left behind, then leave with it after looking inside.
"We don't have any indication that we were involved, but we'd still like to talk to them, see where they were coming from, maybe they had been through this area earlier. Maybe they can tell us something. As far as the purse goes, we're just interested in getting that back, and its contents back and return them to the victims family," said Lt. Roberts.
