PERRYSBURG, Ohio
Some kids and faculty members at a Toledo area high school have had a taste of what life is like for a
student who uses a wheelchair.
Three students and a half dozen staff members spent yesterday getting around Perrysburg High School in wheelchairs and gaining an appreciation for what Zac Zies goes through.
The 14-year-old freshman has a degenerative neuromuscular disorder that requires him to wheel around the school.
Sixteen-year-old junior Alec Gaston went through the wheelchair experience and says he was surprised by how physically demanding it is. He says it left his arms hurting.
Zac says he's glad classmates got a feel for the difficulties and challenges he faces.
