YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- A former Ohio congressman convicted of corruption is acknowledging business groups appear uninterested in his plan to pitch an Indian gambling casino in Youngstown.
James Traficant said Friday that he hasn't heard from any area business about his proposal.
Traficant wouldn't address one of the plan's most significant problems: there are no federally recognized American Indian tribes in Ohio.
Traficant says he's making progress finding financial backing for the estimated $100 million project but wouldn't say whether anyone had committed.
Ohio voters in November approved casinos in Toledo, Cincinnati, Cleveland and Columbus.
Traficant was convicted in 2002 of bribery and racketeering for accepting bribes from businessmen and taking kickbacks from staff members.
