MADISON COUNTY, Ohio -- A fatal crash, involving a semi and a passenger vehicle, has closed one lane of Interstate 71 southbound in Madison County Wednesday afternoon.
NBC 4 reported with the FAST FACTS from West Jefferson troopers.
Troopers said a vehicle was parked on the side of the freeway on I-71 southbound between state Route 56 and state Route 38.
The closing is between the two state routes.
A tractor-trailer crashed into the parked vehicle at about 3 p.m.
OSP confirmed one person was killed in the crash. No word on other injuries.
The duration of the closing could not be estimated currently.
Motorists can take S.R. 56 to U.S. 62 to S.R. 38 to I-71 southbound.
NBC 4 originally reported the crash was near the Jeffersonville exit in Fayette County. That was incorrect.
