HILLIARD, Ohio -- Hilliard Bradley's parent-teacher organization is setting up a goodwill fund to aid families and students who would benefit from a little extra help.
The community will be able to anonymously donate money online using an account accessible on the Bradley PTO Web site at http://www.hilliardbradleypto.com/.
The fund will help Bradley students, and the students will be chosen by a panel of administrators, school nurses and PTO members.
Donations of gently used high-school-age clothes will also be accepted. To donate clothes, drop them off in the school office marked "PTO."
"The PTO is doing a wonderful thing. Students need supplies and what not. If they cannot get it because of financial issues, they may not be able to learn to the best of their ability because of the lack of resources, and that is not fair," PTO member Susan Horava said.
The fund also could be used to purchase textbooks for students.
"The PTO is helping the community and our school by pitching in, and I really admire that," sophomore Nora Yepez said.
This story first was written for Hilliard Bradley’s The Reporter and shared with NBC 4 as part of a media collaboration between schools and the station.
