COLUMBUS, Ohio – A man who has been dubbed the “Suburban Bank Robber” is this weeks Crime Stoppers Crime of the Week.
The FBI has branded this particular suspect the “Suburban Bank Robber” because he is only striking banks in suburban areas, so far.
On Friday, January 29, 2010, shortly before 11 a.m. the suspect enters the Key Bank in the 6900 block of East Main Street in Reynoldsburg. He walked up to the teller, says he is robbing the bank and wants money placed in a plastic bag he has brought along for his heist.
The suspect appears to be a white man in his 30’s, about 6 feet tall with a thin build. This particular day he was wearing a bluish-gray hooded sweatshirt, dark toboggan, sunglasses and dark pant.
Ten days later on February 8, 2010, just after 9:30 a.m., the suspect with the same description did the exact same thing at the Farmers Citizens Bank in the 5800 block of North High Street in Worthington.
Investigators are very sure that the same man robbed both suburban banks, as the M.O, physical description, and bank surveillance photos are identical. The “Suburban Bank Robber” will most likely strike again soon if not identified and captured beforehand.
Crime Stoppers has posted a reward of up to $2,000.00 for any information received by February 24, 2010, leading to the arrest and/or indictment of the persons responsible for this crime.
