COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Two people were transported to an area hospital after a house fire in north Columbus early Monday.

Columbus firefighters responded to a report of a fire on the 2400 block of Hiawatha Street near Hudson Street and I-71 at 4:30 a.m. Monday.
Fire crews found a single-story home’s front room fully engulfed in flames.
Two residents were injured in the fire. They were transported to OSU Medical Center with minor burns and smoke inhalation.
A fire investigator has been called to the fire scene, as well as the hospital, to determine the cause of the fire.
