COLUMBUS, Ohio A new poll shows Governor Ted Strickland is currently running ahead of Republican challenger John Kasich.

The latest Quinnipiac University survey finds if the election for Ohio's next governor were held today, 44 percent would choose Strickland and 39 percent would vote for Kasich.

The last poll had Strickland and Kasich tied at 40 percent.

The survey reveals Kasich is still unknown to many voters. Of those polled, 62 percent say they don’t know enough about Kasich to have an opinion of him.
