COLUMBUS, Ohio -- A man suspected in connection with a teenage girl's shooting surrendered to police Thursday.
According to Columbus police, 19-year-old Demonte Kendrick turned himself in to police headquarters at about 7:15 a.m.
Police responded to 1571 Burlington Ave. at about 7:15 p.m. Feb. 23 on a report of shots fired.
Responding officers found a 16-year-old female victim shot and unresponsive. She was transported to Grant Medical Center in critical condition.
A verbal altercation took place between individuals at the residence, according to Columbus police.
The victim and a witness were walking away from the home when police said Kendrick allegedly shot the victim.
Kendrick has been charged with one count of felonious assault and was taken to the Franklin County Jail.
