COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Columbus police SWAT officers were called to a barricade situation early Monday morning.

Columbus police responded to reports of shots fired at about 4 a.m. on the 3600 block of Eakin Road on the city's West Side.
Columbus police SWAT officers were called to the apartment building when a suspect barricaded himself inside a home with a firearm.
Negotiators were called to the scene.
The suspect came out of the building at about 6:20 a.m. with a female and one baby, according to Columbus police.
Police reportedly found a shotgun in the building after his surrender.
Officers evacuated the building’s residents.
Columbus police told NBC 4 there was a noticeable gunshot blast in one of the building's doors.
The suspect was taken into police custody.
No more immediate information was available.
